Moments ago, Facebook has released a new update of its iPhone and iPad app on the iTunes App Store. This new update is meant to fix the comments bug that has been prevalent in the iOS app of the world's biggest social network.
Facebook is the world's largest social network with over 600 millions users worldwide. It can be safe to the say that a large number of these 600 million users use the official Facebook app on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch devices in order to access their favourite social network. So you can imagine the agony they would be facing at the hands of a bug-riddled Facebook app.
Generally, most people say that they prefer using the HTML5 based web-app of Facebook through mobile Safari instead of the official Facebook app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It's very well known that Facebook's iOS apps have been riddled with bugs whereas the web-app is easier as well as faster to use, while also being easier on the eyes.
So what was this Facebook app comments bug? If you tapped on a picture to open it, the app would display a totally different picture. If you swiped to reveal the comments in hope of adding one yourself, the app would display comments that were not relevant to that particular picture. As previously mentioned, this bug has become a major cause of nuisance for many regular Facebook for iPhone users. The only workaround to fix Facebook app comments bug was to manually go in the album that picture was located in and launch it from the grid. This process is time consuming and most people would prefer not doing it at all.
In hopes of fixing this issue once and for all, Facebook released version 4.0.3 of its iOS app in the iTunes App Store. It's a minor update that comes only with the comments bug fix, no new features or changes have been added. Facebook for iPhone is free for download from the App Store, all you need is an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or higher.
